Typography is everywhere we look. It’s in the books we read, on the websites we visit, even in everyday life — on street signs, bumper stickers, and product packaging. But what exactly is typography? Everyday digital interfaces include a rich variety of images, visualizations, and other pictures. However, more than anything else, they are made of words. Typography is the style or appearance of text. It is at the centre of a designer’s skillset and is about much more than simply making the words legible. The typeface you choose and how it works with your layout, grid, colour scheme and so on will make the difference between a good, bad, and great design.
Typography can be an overwhelming subject, but it doesn’t have to be. You only need to know a little to make a big change in the stuff you do on a daily basis. So let’s get started.

Fonts
Fonts come in many different styles, like the script, blackletter, all caps, and just plain fancy. Every font has its own meaning and should be carefully selected as the font can attract many users but if the font is very aggressive and is not understandable by the user it destroys the UX. Simple and classy fonts are always welcomed, as it is considered cleaner and more modern.
Hierarchy
Hierarchy is used to lead the reader’s eyes to what is most important. In other words, it shows them from where to commence and where to go next using different levels of accents. High-level items are usually bigger, bolder, or different in some way.
Tracking
Tracking is the overall space between characters, sometimes called character spacing. Most systems let you reduce or enlarge this varying on your demands. In some designs, you can tweak your tracking to create a specific imaginative effect. It can also help you fix fonts that are inadequately spaced, to begin with
Leading
Leading is the space between lines of text, also known as line spacing. The aim is to make your text as relaxed to read. Excessively or inadequate spacing can make things unpleasant for the reader
Putting it all together
Well-crafted text can mean the difference between something common and something exceptional — even if you are just getting started with the design. All it takes is a concern in typography and you’ll start to observe more, see more, and be able to do more in your own work.
